[Verse]
Out of the depths of history, a tale unfolds, of a people resilient as time is old.
The Jews, a nation tried by fire and strife their unwavering spirit, the essence of life.
Through countless ages, since exiled by Rome they’ve wandered Stateless, no place to call home.
Time and again, their hopes betrayed when the world turned its back instead of coming to their aid.
[Verse]
From Pharaoh’s whip to the Spanish Inquisition, to pogroms and expulsions, a relentless condition.
The world watched on, indifferent and unkind, while the Jews were persecuted, no safety to find.
Here we now come to the darkest chapter yet, etched firmly into history's scroll…
the Holocaust's horrors and the Jewish people’s suffering… a truly unspeakable toll.
[Chorus]
Crimes against our people, generation after generation,
Another in a long line of nations—
It seems there is no cure
For Jew hatred
Except one:
Zion.
[Verse]
Six million lives extinguished, can you imagine the collective grief?
From the ashes an awareness of how it occurred emerged, and grew into a collective belief.
"Never Again," they proclaim, hearts still filled with pain,
"shall we allow ourselves to be victims, or to suffer in vain."
No longer depending on the world's useless, empty cries, Jews resolved to protect their own precious lives.
[Bridge]
See, the Jews understood through trials new and old that their security lives within their own stronghold.
They will NEVER AGAIN allow themselves to be to the ovens led away,
and nothing proves more they're correct about feeling that way than what is happening today.
[Verse]
What was learned will remain a painful remembrance: the world's protection is hardly a credible defense.
Far too frequently witnessing betrayals of trust, they realized for protection a homeland is a must.
Israel's rebirth is a testament, alright, and their homeland reclaimed, is a beacon of light.
Courage, fortitude, standing tall and strong, defying all odds in a world which seems to love to do them wrong.
[Verse]
They build up communities, both vibrant and bold, preserving ancient traditions they dearly hold.
Through education and knowledge they continue to strive, ensuring their heritage continues to survive.
Scars still linger, though, and constantly remind that bigotry and hatred remain; they were not left behind.
They will keep moving forward, undeterred by the hate, with hope in their hearts and faith in their State.
[Chorus]
Crimes against our people, generation after generation,
Another in a long line of nations—
It seems there is no cure
For Jew hatred
Except one:
Zion.
